Man charged with child sex crimes

Suspect has two prior convictions

Masson A. Minton, 20, Scandinavia, is charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child, using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, possession of child pornography and exposing a child to harmful materials.

On July 11, a man told Waupaca Police Officer Brent Wittman that Minton had been to his home with his 14-year-old daughter while he was at work. He accused Minton of sleeping with his daughter.

On July 15, Detective Sgt. Bret Rodenz and a child advocate interviewed the girl in Neenah.

According to the criminal complaint, the girl said Minton had sex with her and they showered together.

The night before he came to her home, Minton allegedly messaged the girl, described sex acts he wanted her to perform and sent explicit videos to her phone.

Minton and the girl allegedly sent nude photos of themselves to each other.

Minton is currently in custody on a $50,000 cash bond. He faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted of sexual assault.

He was previously convicted for sex crimes involving two other girls.

On July 29, 2019, Minton was placed on two years of probation after Waupaca County convicted him of two misdemeanor counts of sexual contact with a child.

The terms of Minton’s probation included that his record would be expunged if he successfully completed probation.
