Event turns 20 this year

An early-morning shower didn’t dampen the spirits of competitors and spectators at the 20th annual Waupaca Area Triathlon.

COVID-19 concerns kept organizers from holding the event last year, but this year’s competition on Aug. 21 drew more than 600 competitors for its long and short courses.

The weekend also included a kids’ triathlon Aug. 20.
