Voie, Betty L.

Betty L. Voie, age 87, of Scandinavia, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

She was born on October 19, 1933 in the Town of Lind, Waupaca County to the late Louis and Lydia (Leppen) Balthazor. On December 22, 1951 she married Carvel Voie at Scandinavia Lutheran Church; following the wedding, they received guests at the Old Opera House in Amherst, which was the very last reception held. Betty was an active member of the Scandinavia Lutheran Church, serving for several, years on the church council, plus singing in the choir, and sewing with the quilting ladies. She love to bake, and was well known for her donuts; enjoyed sewing, and making PJ for family member, as well as other clothing; sewing pillow cases dresses for third world country, and loved to hear how it made some little girl happy. She was very active in the Democratic party. Betty love to dance, and many weekends were spent doing just that.

Betty is survived by her husband, Carvel “Cubby”; children: Karen Voie, Lynda (David) Jameson and Darrell (Wendy Campos) Voie; grandchildren: Kyle (Amanda) Brown, Kjersti “Ingrid” Simpson, Ramona (Nick) Reisdorf, Avery Kirk, Emily Voie, Sadie (Robert) Zill, Seth (special friend, Sara) Voie; great-grandchildren: Garrett Brown, Natalie Brown, Warren Brown, Grace Simpson, Rinley Reisdorf, Evert Reisdorf, Layla Zill; and foster children, Jerry Goldsmith and David Goldsmith. She is also survived by many friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant granddaughter Kallie, sisters, Verna Balthazor and Eleanor Balthazor; sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Elmore) Skowen and brother-in-law, Danny Bayevich.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Scandinavia Lutheran Church with the Reverends David Eisele and Mark Sabin officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. till the time of service. Interment of cremains will take place in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery in Scandinavia.
