Kraig Allen Kanaman, age 39 of New London, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 2, 2021, with his beloved brother, Andy by his side.

Kraig was born on December 29, 1981 in New London to Wm. and Linda (Byrum) Kanaman. He loved to sing and play his guitar and enjoyed being outside in nature. Kraig especially enjoyed working with his grandpa Byrum on woodworking projects, small engine repair and cars. He was employed at Curwood, Inc/Amcor in New London for over 10 years. He liked his job as a coating operator and enjoyed his work friends. Kraig was truly an angel flying too close to the ground. He was generous with his time, money and care… no questions asked. No one ever had to ask him for help twice. The gentle beauty of his personality will never fade away from all who knew him.

Kraig is survived by his parents, Bill and Linda; brothers, Jay (Sarah) Kanaman and their children, Ayden and Karson and Andy “Huna” (Jen) Kanaman and their children, Isaac and Alexis Kanaman; aunts and uncles: Paul (Tracy) Kanaman, Linda M. Kanaman, Mike (Pam) Kanaman, Kevin (Tammy) Kanaman, Karl (Mary) Kanaman and Brian Kanaman; cousins: Kimberly and Charlie, Heather and Jessica, Mandy and Missy, Michelle, Tommy, Katrina, Timmy, Trista, Travis, Kelsey, Ethan and Ashley; aunts and uncles: Judi (Rod) Harrington, Tom (Patty) Byrum, Wayne (Bonnie) Byrum, and Scott (Sue) Byrum; cousins: Jon (Megan) Byrum, Josh Byrum, David Byrum (Crystal), Kevin (Ally) Byrum, Kristie Reed and Terry Byrum. He is also survived by his Godmother, Judi Harrington and Godfather, Kevin Kanaman; his Goddaughter, Alexis Kanaman and Godson, Karson Kanaman. Kraig fiercely loved his special friend, Angela. Kraig was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ken and Phyllis (Spoehr) Kanaman, Harmon and Gertrude (Huntley) Byrum and his uncle, Ken Kanaman Jr. “Boog”, killed on his 2nd tour of duty in Vietnam.

A private family funeral will be held. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. We will update on our website when details are available.

Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London is serving the family. www.clinehansonfuneralhome.com
