Fall Festival Raffle returning to Iola

Event scheduled for Oct. 2

By Holly Neumann

The Iola Rural Fire and Ambulance Service will host its annual Fall Festival Raffle from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the fire house in Iola.

“This is a great event which brings our community together and give the community a chance to meet the people who are here to help and protect them,” Fire Chief Joe Barden said.

The event will include a main raffle, bucket raffles and paddle wheel prizes.

The main raffle will include a pellet grill, Stevens .410 turkey shotgun with scope, $500 Kalahari Resorts gift certificate, Savage 308 rifle with scope, $500 shopping spree, Ruger security pistol, Green Bay Packers tickets, flat-screen TV and StrikeMaster 8-inch Lazer drill.

“There will be a lot of good prizes for everyone, including kid’s prizes,” Barden said. “We will also have food and drinks for everyone and a lot of laughs and good times.”

After having to cancel last year’s event due to covid, this year’s event is that much more important for the department, according to Barden.

“Not only did we have a loss of interaction between us and the community, we also missed out on raising funds to purchase equipment,” he said.

This year, the department’s goal is to raise enough money to purchase a new UTV to be used by the med unit.

Anyone wishing to make monetary donations can drop them off at the station or mail them to P.O. Box 322, Iola, WI 54945.

Contact department members, stop at the fire station to purchase raffle tickets. Tickets can also be purchased at the event.

“On behalf of Iola Fire and Ambulance, we want to thank everyone for their continued support throughout the year,” Barden said.
