Peskie, Nila E.

Nila E. Peskie, age 75, of Amherst, WI passed away Thursday evening, September 16, 2021 at her home after a long battle with cancers.

She was born August 26, 1946, the daughter of Martin and Elaine (Rusch) Krause. Nila graduated from Almond High School in 1964. On May 20, 1972, she married Patrick “Pat” Peskie at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in the Town of Lanark, Portage Co., WI. Nila worked several years at Portage County Bank, Sorenson’s Floral in Stevens Point, and at the International Bank of Amherst before her retirement. She enjoyed making chocolate chip cookies, and making and decorating cakes for weddings and birthdays. Bird watching, volunteering her time to read at daycare and school, ceramics, plastic canvas crafts, and wordfinds were some of her pastimes, too. She was involved in the Badger Homemakers where she made quilts, the Ladies Aid at church where she cooked dinners, and working the beer stand and charcoal chicken dinners for Lanark Baseball. Nila was very active in her family’s activities, as well as her own. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working on the farm. While her husband, Pat, was working, Nila was able to rake and bale hay, take care of the cattle, watch both her son, Nate, and her husband, Pat, play sports and attend her daughter, Stef’s, craft shows. She also loved to watch her grandchildren, Haley and Ethan, in all of their sports and rodeo events. Nila loved her family, friends, and flowers. She was a wonderful, caring, kind wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed!
