Kamp, Laurie M.

Laurie M. Kamp (nee Mapes) age 61 of Jackson died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at her residence.

She was born May 19, 1960 in West Bend. On June 15, 2007 she was united in marriage to Dale M. Kamp in Weyauwega. Laurie graduated from Weyauwega High School with the class of 1978. She was a nurse at Weyauwega Health Care Center for many years and also worked at Presto Products and was a part owner of Johnny’s Real Pit BBQ. She was also the secretary at Midwest Dairy Supply, a family company founded by her father and still operated in Weyauwega. Her passion was music. She loved playing guitar and piano and enjoyed listening to 80’s rock, Big Band and Rag-Time music. Laurie had a great sense of humor and liked telling jokes. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking and playing World of Warcraft.

Laurie is survived by her husband of 14 years, Dale; her son Kory Kayden of Marshfield and her grandson Bryce. She is further survived by her parents, John Mapes Sr. and Karen Mapes, six siblings: Mike Mapes, James Mapes, John Mapes Jr., Janeane Cole, Christine Mapes and Mary Mapes; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Carole (nee Kos), her stepsister Kelly Gage and her grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Mapes.

A celebration of Laurie’s life will take place at a later date.
