Library moves to curbside service

Change took effect Sept. 30 in Manawa

Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa is now operating under curbside service (porch pickup) with limited computer appointments available inside.

The change went into effect Sept. 30, according to library director Ellen Connor.

“The library’s policy sets service levels based on disease level in the county per the Wisconsin Department of Health Services metrics,” she said. “Waupaca County’s disease level is now in the critically high category. At this level, the library closes to in-person services except for computer appointments. All materials pickups and fax, copy and printing services will be done by phone call or outside consultation with staff.

“Staff are very happy to browse for patrons and pick out books for them to read or order materials for them in the Infosoup catalog,” she said. “Most other services can be accomplished as well.”

Patrons arriving at the library are asked to call the library at 920-596-2252 on their cell phone to let staff know they are there. Patrons that do not have a cell phone should call ahead to let staff know they are coming.

“People can also knock on the door if they need to,” Connor said. “Library staff are hopeful that in-person services can resume soon.”
