Barker, William “Bill”

William “Bill” Barker, age 64 of Clintonville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah.

William Jonathan Barker was born on June 5, 1957 in Appleton to William and Margaret (Koleske) Barker. He graduated from Neenah High School in 1975. Bill entered the U.S. Navy and served all three years at Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois. After the military, he took some data processing classes at Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton. Bill was united in marriage on May 10, 1986, to Roxanne M. Hanson at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. Bill was employed for a short time at Pierce Manufacturing, Appleton, and at 3D Fire Apparatus, Shawano. He was a Cold Inspector for close to 14 years at Walker Forge, Clintonville. Then Bill started with the Curwood Division of Bemis Company in New London, retiring after 16 years in 2019. Bill was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, where he served in the past as an usher. In his early years, he enjoyed bowling with his wife on several local couple’s leagues. He always liked the outdoors, whether he was deer hunting or fishing. Bill enjoyed attending his kids’ sporting events and was their biggest and loudest fan. He also liked going camping and other Boy Scout activities with his son. He was often strong willed but had a heart of gold and helped anyone in need. He had a great sense of humor and was able to talk to anybody. Bill loved spending time with his family and was so proud of his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Roxy; and four children, Shannon (Kevin) Zwitter, Kelly Dahl, Chelsea (Justin) Oshefsky, and Daniel (fiancée Karissa Anderson) Barker. There are five grandchildren: Ashton, Hannah, Scott, Jordy, and Kenzie. There are two sisters, Mary (Rick) Poppe and Jane Speakes. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ben (Gail) and Marty Barker; and a brother-in-law, John Speakes.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, with Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Military Honors will be provided at the funeral home by members of the VFW Post 664, American Legion Post 63, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 63, all of Clintonville.
