Driver airlifted to Neenah hospital
One person was killed and another seriously injured in a crash around 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, in the town of St. Lawrence.
According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, a 36-year-old Appleton woman was driving northbound on County Trunk K when her vehicle entered the east ditch at a curve, then crossed back over the roadway, entered the west ditch, and hit a tree.
The driver and a 71-year-old male passenger, also from Appleton. were unresponsive and transported by ambulance to ThedaCare Medical Center in Waupaca.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the Waupaca hospital.
A helicopter transported the driver to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
The crash remains under investigation and names are being withheld at this time.
