The Clintonville boys’ soccer team will open the WIAA state tournament with a home game.

The Truckers received a No. 8 seed in Division 4 and will host No. 9 Peshtigo at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21.

Both teams have a bye in the first round of the tournament, which started Oct. 19.

The winner of the Clintonville/Peshtigo game will likely face top-seeded Sturgeon Bay Saturday, Oct. 23, for a regional championship.

Clintonville hosted NEW Lutheran Oct. 16 and ended up on the short end of a 2-1 score.

The Truckers ended up tied for third place in the North Eastern Conference standings with Wrightstown. Waupaca won the championship with a 6-0 record, followed by Fox Valley Lutheran (5-2), Clintonville and Wrightstown (4-3), Marinette (3-3), Freedom (3-3-1), Luxemburg-Casco (1-5-1) and Denmark (1-7).
