Quaintance, Phyllis

Phyllis Ann Quaintance, age 92 of New London, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, surrounded by her family, at St. Joseph Residence in New London.

She was born on May 10, 1929, daughter of the late Oliver and Olga (Christianson) Roberts, in the Town of Deer Creek. Phyllis lived in Mountain, WI for years and made wood bundles which her family sold to area campsites and also sold night crawlers to fishermen. On November 30, 1946, Phyllis married Donald Quaintance in Waupaca. He preceded her in death in 2017. Phyllis worked mostly in the CNA field because she loved taking care of people. She did work at the Villa St. Vincent, and Hillshire for a while, but returned back to what she loved doing, taking care of the elderly at St. Joseph Residence. She enjoyed embroidering in her younger days making quilts and pillows for everyone.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Terry) Warning and Kathy (Lester) Jaeger, both of New London; sons: Robert (Sylvia) Wasilla, Alaska; Mike (Karen) Appleton; Pat (friend Kathy), Bayfield; Steve (Chris), New London and Brian (Debbie) New London; grandchildren: Tara (Corey) Prey; Jamie (Jon) Lang; Bobbie Ann (Jeff) Quaintance- Manoske, Ann Quaintance; Tonie Protzman; Jessica Jaeger; Joshua Jaeger; Corey (Sandy) Quaintance; Clint (Abbie) Quaintance; Pattie (Keith) Wanta; Lindsey Quaintance; Natasha (Alex) Jazinski; Kirk (Brittney) Quaintance and Dakota (Kayla) Quaintance; great-grandchildren: Madeline, Genevee, Grant, Ethan, Paisley, Trenton, Piper, Brecken, Wyatt, Zane, Cy, Rebecca, Abigal, Cale, Aubrey, Elyse, and Ayden, Jack, Isaiah, Emmit, Nash, Easton, Owen, Austin, and Mya; sisters, Joyce Voight and Judy Kraus; in-laws, Lorraine (Bob) Woolsey and Lloyd Stern. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, her sisters, June (Harold) Hutchinson and Kathy Stern, brothers: Victor, Fritz, David (Phyllis), George Roberts and in-laws: Tony Kraus, Adrian, Simon, Harry, Francis, and Joan Quaintance, and Raymond Voight.

The Funeral Mass for Phyllis was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation was held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial is in the Most Precious Blood Cemetery, New London.
