Suspect out on bail at time of arrest

Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Strobusch arrested Jonathan R. Olson, 35, Waupaca, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Olson was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 7.

In April 2019, Waupaca County charged Olson with five counts of possession of child pornography and released him on a $5,000 cash bond.

At the time of his arrest, Olson is on Felony Bond for Possession of Child Pornography and released after the posting of a cash bond stemming from a 2019 investigation.

On Monday, Nov. 8, as part of the drug investigation, Detective Sgt. Tim Myers obtained a search warrant to examine Olson’s cellphones.

Myers reported finding hundreds of media files depicting child porn on the devices.

Olson remains in custody on a $50,000 cash bond with charges pending. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of possession of child porn.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office is an active participating member of the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, collaborating with the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation and numerous other agencies around the world to stop online child enticement and other crimes against children.
