Klein, Phyllis Mary

Phyllis Mary Klein passed away quietly at home on Tuesday, November 7, 2021.

She was born in Lyme Regis, England in 1930, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Hutchings) Rice. She married Wayne Klein in 1970, and came to America. In 1997 she was proud to become a US citizen, but still adored her traditional English tea time. She was an avid knitter, sewer, and animal lover. Her beloved pets meant a great deal to her. She was a long time member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and attended services regularly until the pandemic limited her. She wished everyone would understand how much a virus can impact lives as she contracted polio at five-years old and spent her lifetime suffering from its effect. As a result, she was a strong advocate of vaccinations including COVID – 19.

Phyllis is survived by her stepchildren: Mark (Susie) Klein, Troy Klein, Christopher (Linda) Klein, David Klein, and Yvette Egan as well as step-grandchildren: Maria, Steven, Kelly, Katie, Kari, Heidi, Heather and six great-grandchildren in addition to members of her family still living in Europe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, and her husband, Wayne.

The family would like to thank her primary caregiver Cathi, as well as Mary, Mary, and Marilee for the excellent care they provided Phyllis. The family is grateful to Theda Care Hospice specifically providers Kristen and Julie for their compassion and support.

Phyllis was the kindest, sweetest woman, and always had a smile for everyone she saw. She made friends with all her caregivers. We will miss her very much.

A private family service will be held on November 12, 2021 at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers memorial donations should be sent to Waupaca Small Animal Hospital. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
