Covid sends students home

Symptoms reported at Clintonville elementary school

Clintonville School District Administrator Troy Kuhn sent an email Thursday, Nov. 18, informing parents that “multiple persons have tested positive for Covid-19 symptoms,.”

After consulting Waupaca County Public Health officials and school nurses, the district “determined that having staff and students in enclosed areas could increase the spread and potential outbreak throughout the whole elementary.”

Kindergarten and 4K students were highly encouraged to go home and 4K afternoon students were informed to stay home.

Kindergarten and 4K students must remain home the week of Nov. 22-26. They may return to school on Monday, Nov. 29.

“If able, we encourage you to pick up your child from Rexford Longfellow as soon as possible,” Kuhn’s memo said. “Please ring the bell, state your child’s name and we will bring your child out to you.

“If you are unable to pick up your child, they will be sent home at the normal time, end of the day. We will keep your child here at school in a designated quarantine area.”
