Shawano sweeps basketball teams

Clintonville hosted Shawano for a basketball doubleheader Dec. 4, but came up short in both games.

The Hawks handed the boys’ team a 55-44 loss, while the Clintonville girls fell 41-32.

Shawano 55, Clintonville 44

Shawano built an 18-2 lead in the first half, but the Truckers cut the deficit to 28-17 at halftime.

Clintonville opened the second half with three-pointers from Andy Lamia and Jack Yaeger that cut the Hawks’ lead to five points, but Shawano answered with an 11-0 run and the Truckers never got any closer than 11 points the rest of the way.

Lamia led the Truckers with 14 points.

Shawano 41, Clintonville 32

Shawano outscored the Truckers 24-12 in the second half after trailing 20-17 at the break.

Lauren Zwirschitz, Jordan Lehman and Gracie Poole led Clintonville with seven points each, while Shawano’s Brooke Theis led all scorers with 14.
