Latza, Virginia Mae

Virginia Mae Latza, age 93 of New London, passed away on December 9, 2021 at St. Joseph Residence in New London.

Virginia was born on April 28, 1928 to the late Elmer and Elsie (Gauerke) Polzin. She formerly worked at the Hortonville Toy Factory and Glass Fab in New London. Virginia was a big fan of the Bucks, Badgers and Packers. She loved crocheting blankets for her family and was a longtime member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London.

Virginia is survived by her son, Gordon “Pete” Latza; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Malavazos, Brad (Tracey) Latza, Richard Burns (significant other, Georgia Schramm), Kay (Curtis) Colbert, David (Linda) Burns, Tim Burns and Kevin Burns; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Kortbein and Marlene (Harvey) Miller and sister-in-law, Patricia Polzin. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1985; daughter, Jeanette Riley, sister, Dorothy (Ervin) Reimer; brother, Roland Polzin; daughter-in-law, Rita Latza and brother-in-law, Marvin Kortbein.

The Memorial Mass for Virginia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. The visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
