Wolf River Theatrical Troupe stage Christmas play

After a nearly two-year hiatus, the Wolf River Theatrical Troupe is back with their annual Christmas presentation.

The troupe is performing Cameron Kent’s musical comedy “Welcome to Virginia” at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 9-11, located at 304 St. John’s Place, New London.

Directed by Margie Brown, “Welcome to Virginia” includes cast members Jim Ehrhardt, Mark Grossman, Dorea Lauer, Parker Elandt, Katie Schneider and Caleb Lauer.

Spend Christmas Eve with this group of stranded travelers and an accommodating janitor, Charlie, at an interstate rest area as they explore the true meaning of Christmas against the wishes of Frank, a billionaire businessman whose wealth is mainly due to the holidays.

In addition to discussing what Christmas means to all of them, they work to discover the root of Frank’s disdain for the holiday season through song and stories.

This musical comedy offers a unique version of the first story of Christmas as the cast members learn more about each other in their journey to help Frank connect to his spiritual self.

“Welcome to Virginia” will be performed at 304 St. John’s Place, New London.

Tickets are $17 and are available by calling 920-250-6200, at the box office, or online at www.wrtt.org.
