Dunlavy, Stephanie R.

Stephanie R. Dunlavy, age 77, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021.

Steffie was born in Chicago, IL on January 4, 1944, the daughter of J. Eugene and Muriel (Marcus) Rowland. She graduated from New Trier Township High School in Winnetka, IL and attended Ripon College in Ripon, WI and completed her bachelor’s degree from Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona. She married Kenneth P. Dunlavy in 1962 and they shared 58 adventurous years together. They were blessed with 5 children as well as guarding over many more children throughout the years. Steffie was a proud United States Marine Corps wife. She ran several independent businesses throughout the years, including the Jolly Greens Plant Business.

Steffie will be remembered for her strong, brave, persevering soul and her larger-than-life laugh, that came deep from her heart! She loved spending time with her family and especially grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

Steffie is survived by her children: Kelly (Mike) Berkowitz, Sean (Angi) Dunlavy, Ken Jr. (Dawn) Dunlavy, Colleen (Mark) Bucalo, Brian Dunlavy, and Mary Uhde; grandchildren: Ashley, Kyle K., Justine, Lauren, Taylor, Logan, Joshua, Zachary, Grace, Ava, Paige, Ken III, Haley, Sydney, Emma, Kyle B., Anne, Olivia and Kennedy; many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and her brother Stanley (Rosemary) Rowland. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 18th at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church, 27 7th Street, Clintonville, WI. Fr. Timothy Shillcox, O. Praem will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of mass at the church.

Donations can be made in her name to the Gift of Life Transplant House at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
