Donald R. Bretwisch of Waupaca, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at home.
He was born in Chicago on January 28, 1930 to the late Edward and Irene (Hartzer) Bretwisch. Donald was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Donald’s membership in the Loyal Order of the Moose was so important to him, he was a member for 50 plus years. He volunteered for over 20 years at the Wisconsin Veterans Home.
He will be missed by his wife, Joan; children: Lynn (Stu) Holland, Jean (Gary) Hernal, Bill (Kim) Bretwisch, Bob Bretwisch, Mary (John) Barry, Ken (Stacey) Bretwisch, Rich (Betsy) Bretwisch; grandchildren: Brett, Kerri, Matt, Kelly, Nick, Jordan, Amber, Erin, Julia, Samantha, Autumn, Kaley, Ryan, Bridget and Megan; six great-grandchildren: Cecilia, Clara, Brielle, Mia, Everet and August. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Maple Crest Funeral Home is helping the family with arrangements.
