Landowski, Jeanette A.

Jeanette A. Landowski, age 97, of Almond, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at her home, with her family by her side.

She was born on April 14, 1924 in Grand Rapids, MI, daughter of Benjamin and Hattie (Kowalski) Bartkowiak. On April 22, 1944, she married Frank E. Landowski at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Town of Lanark and shared 58 years together. Jeanette was very proud of being a farmwife, homemaker and mother. She lived on the family farm for over 75 years. Jeanette enjoyed reading books, especially travel and nonfiction books, gardening and was an avid story teller. She was well known to family and friends for having a great memory. She remembered when she was four, traveling to Oregon and going past Mt. Rushmore at its beginning construction stage and was proud of her great uncle, John Bukolt, who started the Lullabye Furniture Factory in Stevens Point and the Bukolt Park also in Stevens Point.

Jeanette is survived by her children: Betty Landowski of La crosse, WI; David Landowski of Appleton, WI; Lynn (Rhonda) Landowski of Dayton, TN; Charlene (Don) Engelbert of Plover, WI and Jean (Steve) Colombe of Amherst, WI; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Jan Landowski of Sauk City, WI. Besides her parents and husband, Frank, she is preceded in death by a son, Paul; two grandchildren, Daniel and James Oestrich; a great-granddaughter, Meghan Landowski; two brothers, Robert and Donald Bartkowiak.

A funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Almond with Father Peter Manickam presiding. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Town of Lanark. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Hardell-Holly Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
