Wolves cruise in White Lake

Manawa also drops home game

Manawa’s girls’ basketball team hit the road Jan. 6 and returned home with a Central Wisconsin Conference-North win over the new opponent.

The Wolves handed White Lake, which joined the CWC-North this season for basketball, a 64-8 loss. The win came three days after Lourdes Academy defeated Manawa 49-33.

Manawa held the Lakers to two points in the first half and led 38-2 at the break.

Lexi Hedtke scored 12 points for the Wolves, while Katrina Pranke scored all of White Lake’s points.

The Knights outscored the Wolves 27-18 in the first half.

The Wolves eventually took a one-point lead with 11:25 remaining in the game, but Lourdes Academy responded with a 17-0 run to seal the win.

Hedtke led the Wolves with 14 points, while Hailee Bauer led the Knights with 24.

Manawa’s CWC-North game at Gresham originally scheduled for Jan. 11 was postponed. The Wolves are scheduled to host Northland Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14.
