T-Birds knock off Wega-Fremont

The Iola-Scandinavia boys’ basketball team stayed undefeated Jan. 7 with a 58-47 home win over Weyauwega-Fremont.

The Thunderbirds outscored Weyauwega-Fremont 28-22 in the first half behind 12 points from Parker Prahl, who led all players with 22 points.

Iola-Scandinavia added to its lead with a 30-25 advantage in the second half.

Brock Wester also finished in double figures for the T-Birds with 11 points, while Quinn Dittmann led the Warhawks with 16 points.

The T-Birds stayed on top of the Central Wisconsin Conference-East standing with a 4-0 mark after the win, while the Warhawks fell to 2-1 in CWC-East play and 5-5 overall.

Both teams have CWC-East games scheduled for this week. Iola-Scandinavia will host Bonduel, Thursday, Jan. 13, while Weyauwega-Fremont will head to Wittenberg Friday, Jan. 14, to face Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Tipoff for both games is set for 7:15 p.m.
