Kaddatz, Lyle

Lyle Kaddatz, age 98 of New London, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022.

He was born on December 14, 1923, son of the late Albert and Selma (Lemke) Kaddatz. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Ort on June 26, 1942 in the Town of Ellington. She preceded him in death in 2005. Lyle was a very hard worker being a farmer for many years, while also working 30 years for John Strange Paper Mill (Menasha Corporation) until being disabled. He was rarely idle, having a love of plants, especially orchids. Lyle’s greatest passion, however, was fishing with his sons, Gene and John, his cousin Milo and a variety of others. In addition, he also appreciated woodworking, gardening, raising berries, and making jam for gifts. Lyle and Mary Jane labored many hours to make crafts for the yearly church bazaars. Lyle had many fond memories and travels, here are just a few. He faithfully followed the Packers even standing in the below-freezing temperatures awaiting the Super Bowl winners at Lambeau Field with Pam, Keith, Jeff, and longtime friend, fishing buddy, and cousin Milo Lemke. He went to Wisconsin State Fair annually and had fabulous trips to Door County, Hawaii, and Florida with Patti, Jim, Jeff, and Joe. He had a precious and memorable Tiger Cruise on the USS Missouri with his son, Gene, and grandson, Rory. Lyle wasn’t much of a hunter but went with his sons, Gene and John to the hunting “party” cabin up north on several occasions. He valued weddings and the chance to polka, taking turns with Patti, Pam, Lisa, Grace, and many other aunts and cousins. In his later years he attended and volunteered at the New London Senior Center with his second wife Rose. He will be missed by many family friends.

Lyle is survived by three children: Patricia (James) Rainer, John (Gloria) Kaddatz, and Pamela (Keith) Bilyeu; grandchildren: Rory (Karen) Kaddatz; Roxanne (Brian) Neumann, Roberta (John) Warnke, Joseph (Diane) Rainer Jeffrey (Jodi) Rainer, Jamie Kaddatz, and John Ryan (Katie) Kaddatz; great-grandchildren: Marissa Neumann, Mariya Neumann, Sheena (Caleb) Schlimm, Shemane Warnke, True (Tanner) Rauen, and Calvin Kaddatz; four great-great-grandchildren: Brycen, Ruby, Kya, and Rylee. He is further survived by his second wife Rose who he married at the age of 84 and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife of 65 years, Mary Jane, two sons, James and Gene, all of his siblings,
