New London High School presents Singstock

The Show Choir Singstock Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 22, at New London High School.

Hosted by the New London High School Music Department and the New London Choir Parents, the daylong event features competition by some of Wisconsin’s finest high school show choir groups, along with their show bands.

The competition begins at 8 a.m., with evening finals performances slated at 6:30 p.m. The doors for the evening competition will open at 6 p.m.

Participants this year include: New London High School’s Vision, New London Middle School’s Vocal Motion, Mayville Middle School’s Next Edition, De Pere’s Chicago Street Singers, Green Bay Preble’s Rendezvous, West Salem’s Vivace, DeForest’s DeFortes, Burlington’s“B*JAZZled, Neenah’s Act II, Green Bay Southwest’s Spotlight Singers, Tomah’s Limited Edition, Altoona’s Locomotion, De Pere’s Jam Session, West Salem’s Salem Singsation, Mayville’s Cardinal Singers and Green Bay Prebles’ Center Stage.

The New London’s Vision show choir is under the new direction of Kevin J. Spindler and Alex Rambo. Vision consists of 43 singers/dancers, along with a 12-piece show band, choreographed by Kevin Chase.

Vision is looking forward to performing at Viterbo, De Pere, West Salem and Green Bay Southwest.

This year’s Vision theme represents the ups, downs, twists, and turns people endure in their lives.

The roller coaster theme tells a touching story of growing up, enjoying life, and never looking back.

Songs that Vision will perform are “Roller Coaster,” “We’re Going Up,” “I Was Here,” “Runnin/Welcome to the New,” and “Times Like These.”

Ticket information

Tickets will be available at the door. Children 4 and under are free, Day Competition tickets will cost $12 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Evening Finals Competition will be $12 (5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.), Combined (8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m). will be $15.

“This year’s Singstock festival will be truly something you won’t want to miss.” Spindler said. “We are so proud to bring back a show choir festival, not only to New Lonon, but also to the Fox Cities. If you have never been to a show choir festival before, it is truly uplighting and amazing what high school kids can do in a live performance.”
