Wolves get road win in Marion

Manawa now 6-0 in CWC-North

Manawa’s girls’ basketball team split recent games with Manawa and Pacelli.

The Wolves returned from Marion Jan. 21 with a 61-23 win over the Mustangs one day after dropping a 49-36 decision at home to Pacelli.

Manawa 61, Marion 23

Manawa outscored the Mustangs 37-14 in the first half and 24-9 in the second to improve to 6-0 in the Central Wisconsin Conference-North standings.

Mikenna Wegener led Manawa with 21 points, while Maleah Pirk added 10.

Pacelli 49, Manawa 36

Pacelli used Amelia Jacoby’s eight points to take a 24-19 halftime lead.

Jacoby added 10 more points in the second half and led all scorers with 18.

Jolie Jaeger led Manawa with 13 points and Marilyn Klatt chipped in with nine.

The Wolves will travel to Gresham Thursday, Jan. 27, for a rescheduled CWC-North matchup with the Wildcats before hosting Tigerton at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28.
