T-Birds win home games

The Iola-Scandinavia boys have now hit the court 14 times and have yet to lose a game.

The Thunderbirds’ latest wins include a 63-50 Central Wisconsin Conference-East victory over Menomonie Indian Jan. 21 and a 53-23 nonconference decision Jan. 18 over Markesan.

Iola-Scandinavia 63, Mennominee Indian 50

Parker Prahl scored 12 of his game-high 23 points in the first half, as the T-Birds built a 31-20 lead at the break.
Iola-Scandinavia then outscored the Eagles 32-30 in the second half.

Brock Wester added 16 points for the T-Birds, while Lloyd Reeves led Menomonie Indian with 19.

Iola-Scandinavia 53, Markesan 23

Iola-Scandinavia outscored the Hornets 26-10 in the first half and added to its lead with a 27-13 advantage over the final 18 minutes.

Prahl and Wester led the T-Birds with 13 and 10 points, respectively, while Ethan Gerbitz led Markesan with seven.

The T-Birds will head to Wittenberg-Birnamwood Thursday, Jan. 27, before hosting Amherst Tuesday, Feb. 1. Tipoff for both games is set for 7:15 p.m.
