Man charged with reckless endangerment

Defendant accused of threatening pregnant girlfriend with knife

Aarron L. Evitch, 25, Clintonville, is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, threatening an officer, misdemeanor bail jumping and disorderly conduct as an act of domestic abuse.

At 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, Clintonville police were called out to a home on East Second Street for a domestic complaint.

According to the criminal complaint, when Officers Anthony Arrieta, Cody Rollin and Craig Kanke arrived, Evitch was in the basement and refused to come upstairs.

Officers reported that Evitch lunged at the stairwell with a knife in his hand. It appeared to the officers that he was hallucinating and threatening a nonexistent person with the knife.

Evitch claimed he had a 9mm handgun and threatened to commit suicide by cop, the complaint says.

Capt. Dennis Schroeder persuaded Evitch to come upstairs.

Kanke spoke with Evitch’s girlfriend, who is pregnant with his child.

The girlfriend said Evitch had been drinking and the couple began arguing.

She told police Evitch threatened to kill her and her unborn baby while wielding the knife.

He is currently in custody on a $20,000 cash bond.
