Harsh, John P. Jr.

John P. Harsh Jr., age 91, of King, WI passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home-Ainsworth Hall.

He was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 18, 1930, a son of the late John and Carolina (Bartaloti) Harsh. John married Peggy J. McClintock on December 2, 1950 in Milwaukee and were married for 49 years. She preceded him in death. John served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was on the USS Tarawa, USS Valcour and USS Valley Forge. He was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.

Survivors include his sons, Michael J. (Sandy) Harsh, Wales, WI; Kenneth A. (Susan) Harsh, Sussex, WI; grandchildren: April Molitor, Jennifer A. (Brian) Mack and Jonathan M. Harsh; great-grandchildren, Breckin A. Strand and Nolan E. Strand. He is also survived by his sisters, Caroline Riviere (Bruce Robrahn), Elizabeth Thompson and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Carolina Harsh; his wife, Peggy J. Harsh; a son, James M. Harsh; a grandson, Daniel J. Harsh; stepbrothers, Carl Terek and Steve Terek; stepsister, Mary Terek-Farkas and brothers-in-law, Bill Riviere and Eugene Thompson.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Funeral Service also to be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park – Chapel of the Flowers in Brookfield, WI at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Visitation on Tuesday will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Wisconsin Memorial Park – Chapel of the Flowers. Entombment will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park with military honors.
