One of the Waupaca boys’ basketball team’s North Eastern Conference losses this season was a 67-50 setback to Clintonville in January on the Truckers’ home court.

The Comets returned the favor Feb. 15 with a 66-49 win at Waupaca High School.

Clintonville took a 31-30 lead into the locker room at halftime, but Waupaca outscored the visitors 36-18 in the second half.

Luke Schwenn gave the Comets a 32-31 lead in the opening minute of the second half. Waupaca never trailed again and led by as many as 19 points late in the game.

The Comets made 10 three-pointers in the game, including six in the first half.

Schwenn led Waupaca with 15 points, while Bryce Boldt and Evan Bogard added 14 and 11, respectively. Cole Rosenow led Clintonville with 13 points.

Both teams will wrap up the regular season Thursday, Feb. 24. Waupaca will host Luxemburg-Casco while the Truckers will head to Denmark.
