Eight eateries compete for tastiest dish
Fremont’s taverns and eateries participated in the Absolut-ly Fremont Bloody Mary Trail last year.
The challenge: determine who makes the best bloody Mary in the Fremont area by knocking back a bloody Mary cocktail at different eight local establishments.
Participants received a card stamped for each bloody Mary consumed and then each bloody Mary is rated on the back of the card.
Bloody Marys mixed by the Buss Stop were voted as the best in town.
Organized by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, another competition is in the works that involves another beloved Wisconsin delectable: who has the best fish fry?
It’s based on the same rules: tuck into a fish fry, get the card stamped and give the dinner a rating.
The following locations are participating and cards can be picked up at each place: Angler’s Bar & Grill, Beck’s Pub & Grill, Bridge Bar & Restaurant, Hahn-A-Lula Resort, The Hotel Fremont, Gala Resort & Campground, The Shack Smokehouse and the Wolf River Lodge Bar & Grill.
The fish fry does not have to be the traditional Friday fish fry dinner. It can be for lunch and it can be a fish basket.
Participants have a chance to win a $160 prize package of gift cards to each competing eatery.
When the card is full and the fish fries have be reviewed, the card should be turned it at the Buss Stop by the May 15 deadline.
