Poppe, Arwyn M.

Arwyn M. Poppe, age 86 of the Town of Deer Creek, Outagamie County passed away at her home on Friday afternoon March 25, 2022.

Arwyn Mary Olson was born on January 11, 1936 as the daughter of the late Christian and Doris (Owen) Olson. She grew up in the Ogdensburg area and was united in marriage to Ruben Poppe on September 8, 1956 in Ogdensburg. The couple farmed in Deer Creek until their retirement in 1992 and a few years later they relocated to another residence just down the road. Arwyn genuinely loved kids. It was through this passion that she became a Teacher’s Aide; starting at the Bear Creek School and later for the Clintonville School District. She also worked as a librarian while at the school and worked at the same time for Walmart in New London. Arwyn was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Bear Creek where she put her talents to work teaching Sunday School and served on the Ladies Aide. Arwyn was a treasurer for the Danish Cemetery just down the road from her house and was active with the Busy Bears 4-H over the years. She and Ruben loved riding motorcycles and were members of the Harley Classic Riders Club for many years. They enjoyed camping and snowmobiling and even taught snowmobile safety class together. Arwyn cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would light up whenever they’d stop for a visit.
