Andresen, Ruth M. (Mahr) Delap

Ruth M. (Mahr) Delap Andresen, age 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

She was born in Wauwatosa, WI on October 30, 1926 to Andrew and Hazel (Belzer) Mahr. On October 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to Elden “Bud” Delap, sharing over 50 years together before his passing on April 17, 1997. She later married Merle Andresen on March 24, 2001 and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2002. For many years, she volunteered at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King and also belonged to many clubs in the Waushara area. Though she moved a few times throughout the state, she always found a church home – Trinity Lutheran Church of Redgranite, Anchor of Truth Church in Oshkosh and finally Wild Rose Baptist Church; and was a regular attendee until her health no longer allowed. Her favorite thing to do with her hands was to sew clothing for her children. Raising eight children, she learned to be a strong, yet gentle woman, which carried on for the next four generations and she was affectionately referred to as “Grandma Angel”.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Dennis (Debra) Delap of Racine, David Delap of FL, Diana (Rick) Dickey of Oshkosh, Donald Delap of IN, Dale (Virginia) Delap of IN, Debbie Reed of Wautoma and Darla (Dennis) Kinsey of IN. Ruth is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as two sisters, Marjorie Kallin of Appleton and Bonnie Marshek of Oshkosh. In addition to her husband Elden and husband Merle, she was preceded in death by her son, Devin and three brothers, Donald, Robert and Wayne Mahr.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place aside her first husband Elden in the Colburn Leola Cemetery in Big Flats, WI.
