WHS forensics team goes to state

Two Waupaca students place in finals

The Waupaca High School forensics team competed at the WFCA State Tournament on Saturday, April 2, at Eau Claire North High School.

Eleven students competed in both speech and interpretive categories.

Semifinalists include senior Madeline Koran in informative speaking and sophomore Emily Munoz Gonzalez in original oratory.

In addition, two Waupaca students graced the stage as finalists.

Freshman Tyler Smidt placed fifth out of 31 solo humorous performances and senior Jade Bautista placed second out of 45 impromptu speeches.

Waupaca was one of 45 schools competing from across the state.
