The former Beverly Ann Tomas was born on August 27, 1941 at New London Hospital to Hilbert and Esther (Ebert) Tomas. She grew up just outside of New London in the Mosquito Hill area and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1959. Beverly was united in marriage on October 29, 1960 to Roger E. Young at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. For many years, she worked side-by-side her husband on the dairy farm. Beverly’s proudest task was raising her children and taking care of her home. Her husband of 52 years preceded her in death on June 18, 2013. Beverly was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Manawa, where she sang in the choir and took part in different Bible study groups. Her other interests included picking wildflowers, going fishing, watching the birds, listening to 50’s and 60’s music, and painting with acrylics. She mostly painted beautiful landscapes and other nature scenes. She also liked hunting for special antiques at flea markets. Beverly loved spending time with her grandkids, whether they were going fishing, to the county fair, or to a local thresheree. She will be remembered most as a caring individual and an unselfish mother and grandmother. She always held dear to her heart the friendships she acquired with the Zion church ladies and also the love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
