Discover Wisconsin discovers Waupaca

TV show features ‘From the Chain to Main’

Discover Wisconsin, the state’s tourism TV show, will shine the spotlight on Waupaca in an upcoming episode.
Waupaca is a city with a rich history, surrounded by natural beauty, and brimming with four seasons of fun.

The episode will air statewide at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, on Bally Sports Wisconsin and on WAOW TV 9 (ABC) out of Wausau 11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 8.

An exclusive early debut will stream at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, available through discoverwisconsin.com, Roku, Apple TV, SmartTV, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire, YouTube and Facebook.

In this episode of Discover Wisconsin, host Alex Wehrley begins her adventure with a tour around the crystal-clear Chain O’Lakes on the Chief Waupaca sternwheeler.

She then takes an opportunity to learn about the historic Danes Hall, before wandering down the newly renovated Main Street to explore some of the shops, and hear from local business owners about what makes Waupaca a vibrant community.

The show presents Waupaca’s many activities and the national and global companies based in the area.
Later, this episode highlights the Waupaca Area Triathlon, Arts on the Square and one of the most popular music venues in the county.

Wehrley also goes snowshoeing at Hartman Creek State Park and curling with one of America’s oldest curling clubs.

Discover Wisconsin’s “Waupaca: From the Chain to Main” episode will also be featured in episode 121 of Discover Wisconsin’s official podcast, The Cabin. The episode will go live on Tuesday, May 3, and will be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and various other podcast streaming apps.
