Improvements eyed for track
Fundraising begins in Iola-Scandinavia School District
By Holly Neumann
Fundraising has begun to renovate the Iola-Scandinavia School District’s track, located behind the elementary school.
The goal is to raise $200,000 to rubberize the existing track surface and triple and long jump areas.
Improvements will also be made to the discus, shot put and high jump areas.
The rubberized surface, which will help prevent injuries and keep athletes healthier, gives the district more opportunities to host track meets.
Anyone wishing to support the project can donate. Donation levels include:
• Diamond Level: $10,000.
• Gold Level: $5,000.
• Silver Level: $1,000.
• Bronze Level: $500.
• Orange Level: $200.
Donations can be mailed to Sarah Thiel, the district’s business manager, at 450 Division St., Iola, WI 54945.
