Mustangs sweep track meet

Clintonville places second, Waupaca third

Little Chute’s track team swept a North Eastern Conference triangular April 26 with Clintonville and Waupaca at Clintonville High School.

Team scores on the boys’ side were Little Chute (104), Clintonville (56) and Waupaca (25).
The Mustangs also won the girls’ competition with 113 points, followed by Clintonville (31) and Waupaca (11).

Clintonville’s first-place finishers for the boys included Trystan Krueger (boys’ 200- and 400-meter dash); Joshua Wilson (boys’ 1,600- and 3,200-meter run); Casey Ploederl (boys’ high jump); Brody Prill (boys’ pole vault); Samuel Wegener (boys’ long jump); Emily Taylor (girls’ 300-meter hurdles, shot put, triple jump); and Lauren Zwirschitz (girls’ 100-meter hurdles).

Seconds for the Truckers went to the boys’ 400-meter relay team of Cole Masiarchin, Ploederl, Krueger and Samuel Wegener; Wegener (boys’ high jump),; Ploederl (boys’ long jump); Lucaz Dickleman (boys’ triple jump); Taylor (girls’ 100-meter hurdles); and Zwirschitz (girls’ 300-meter hurdles).

Thirds for Clintonville went to Masiarchin (boys’ 200-meter dash); Nathan Malotky (boys’ 400-meter dash): Wilson (boys’ 800-meter run); Rebecca Pyatskowit (girls’ 1,600-meter run); and Gracie Poole (girls’ long jump).

Waupaca’s first-place finishers included Hesslin Trzebiatowski (boys’ 300-meter hurdles); the boys’ 3,200-meter relay team; and Derek Trzebiatowski (boys’ triple jump).

Seconds for the Comets went to Riley Wahler (boys’ 200-meter dash); the boys’ and girls’ 800-meter relay teams; Cailyn Berens (girls’ long jump).

Thirds for the Comets went to the boys’ 400-meter relay team; and Bryce Boldt (boys’ high jump).
Clintonville also traveled to Ripon April 28 to compete in the large school division of the Tom Callen Invitational.

Kiel won the boys’ event with 146 points, followed by Hortonville (142), Campbellsport (105), Berlin (80), Ripon (78), Clintonville (75) and Waupun (63).

Hortonville won the girls’ competition with 142 points, followed by Kiel (137), Berlin (110), Waupun (108), Ripon (80), Campbellsport (68) and Clintonville (31).

Clintonville’s top placers included Krueger (first, boys’ 400-meter dash); Ploederl (first, boys’ high jump); Zwirschitz (first, girls’ 100-meter hurdles); Wilson (second, boys’ 1,600- and 3,200-meter run); Prill (boys’ pole vault); Taylor (girls’ 100-meter hurdles): and Wegener (third, boys’ high jump).

Waupaca and Clintonville will compete Thursday, May 5, in invitationals. The Comets will host Iola-Scandinavia, Manawa, Marathon, New London, Pacelli, Rosholt, Tri-County, Winneconne and Wittenberg-Birnamwood for the Waupaca Invitational, with events scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Truckers will head to the Seymour Invitational to face Seymour, Algoma, Ashwaubenon, Bonduel, Denmark, Green Bay East, Hortonville, Kiel, Menasha, Notre Dame, Oshkosh North, Pulaski, Sevastopol and West De Pere, with events to start at 3:30 p.m.
