Sturgeon Shuffle raises $12,500

Run benefits local backpack programs

The Sturgeon Shuffle 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk returned on Saturday, April 30, after a 3-year absence due to the pandemic.

The events held at New London Middle School took 5K and 10K participants on a scenic route along the Wolf River on County Trunk X.

The road temporarily closed for the more than 300 participants who registered for the events.

This was also the first time in years that both events returned in their entirety to the Sturgeon Shuffle’s original location bringing runners and walkers along the river.

Race results

A total of 35 runners participated in the 10K. Timothy Hartzke of Ogdensburg took first place in the Male Division with a time of 40:37.

Raissa Ashman of Seymour crossed the finish line with a time of 44:54 to win the 10K Female Division.

In the 5K, April Hanson of Clintonville won the Female Division with a time of 18:57. Nathan Malotky, also of Clintonville, finished with a time of 20:26 to win the Male Division.

A total of 186 entrants competed in the 5K.

Additional awards were given to the top three male and female finishers in each youth and adult age division of each race. A link to full race results can be found atrunsignup.com/sturgeonshuffle.
