Waupaca County sheriff’s report May 8

• May 2 – A Manawa man on Walnut Street reported there was a cow at his location with overgrown hooves indicating neglect.

• May 2 – A Weyauwega man reported that he received a call and was told he needed to pay $2,000 because there was a warrant for his arrest. He purchased some Visa cards and gave the person the numbers over the phone.

• May 2 – A Hortonville man called to report his trail camera was stolen. It was there two days before and he has suspicion on who took it.

• May 2 – Eastside Mobil Express called to report a woman in the game room that might be “tweaking on something.” She was rocking back and forth for five minutes.

• May 3 – A Fremont woman called to report that her dog alerted her to a big black garbage bag. Inside the bag was a comforter covered with fresh, wet blood.

• May 3 – An Appleton woman called about a local man she was concerned about. He had congestive heart failure and a hernia. Earlier he had left a hospital against medical advice. She thought he may be “giving up.”

• May 3 – A Weyauwega man reported his brother threatened him with a sword and poked him with it. He was not injured but did not feel safe there because his father said it was OK that his brother does this.

• May 4 – A Weyauwega woman reported that she had been seeing a suspicious white Pontiac driven by a male. The vehicle was at St. Paul’s during the pick-up times but did not pick up a child.

• May 4 – A Weyauwega women called to report that at the BP station, a woman got out of her black Nissan and was looking in the caller’s vehicle. Nothing was missing.

• May 4 – A man called to report a truck smashed into some trees near the Waushara/Waupaca county line. There was blood inside the vehicle.

• May 5 – A Weyauwega man called to report that his father’s will was changed and he was taken out of it. He wanted to speak to an officer.

• May 5 – Dollar General in Embarrass reported an elderly woman kept coming in and out of the store in a very confused state.

• May 5 – A caller reported a suspicious RV driven by an elderly man. It was parked across the street from Boondocks Bar in Manawa.

• May 5 – A Kaukauna woman called about her ex-husband in the Waupaca area. He is the respondent in a domestic abuse injunction and is not to have firearms. When her 5-year-old daughter visits her father, he spends time with her shooting a shotgun.

• May 5 – A Waupaca man reported that a suspicious white Chevy Malibu pulled in behind his neighbor’s shed. Four occupants were in the car. They said they had a flat tire.

• May 6 – A New London man called to report that he was scammed out of $30,000 from someone claiming to be Publisher’s Clearinghouse.

• May 6 – An insurance adjuster called about a local property that had dead cows and calves everywhere.

• May 6 – A Weyauwega man met a woman online. He sent her a $6,000 cashier’s check the week before. The check was deposited. He suspected fraud.

• May 6 – A man in Dayton reported hearing a loud explosion and his power went out.

• May 6 – The Bridge Bar in Fremont reported a suspicious gray Honda Civic with black wheels in the parking lot. Six people in the vehicle. They threatened to shoot some patrons.

• May 6 – A New London man called about his ex-girlfriend who is not welcome at his house. She was on her way over.

• May 7 – A Clintonville man reported his wife missing. She came home from work the day before at 6:30 a.m. and then left. The caller could not reach her and had not heard from her. She left behind her phone and work badge.

• May 7 – A woman called with a request while driving to meet an officer at the Fremont Police Department. She was hysterical and crying. She said a motorcycle was following her.

• May 8 – An Iola man on County Trunk J requested help with an aggressive dog in the roadway.
• May 8 – A Waupaca man went to a bar the night before. He met his ex-girlfriend and she hit him in the back. He reported she was harassing him with text messages.

• May 8 – The Norseman House Motel in Iola called to report that an ex-employee was at the motel and would not leave room 12.

• May 8 – A New London man reported that two alpacas were blocking the road.

• May 8 – Kwik Trip on Fulton Street in Waupaca reported a man who kept passing out. His pants were pulled halfway down.

• There were numerous calls about controlled burns and auto-deer collisions. There were a handful of reports of cows getting loose and being on the road.
