Show opens Friday in Waupaca

Fifth- through eighth-grade students will perform “Matilda Jr.” at the Chain Exploration Center at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21.

Both performances are free and open to the public.

Music Theatre International’s “Matilda Jr.” is a musical based on Roald Dahl’s classic book, Matilda.

The students have been working twice a week on the production, which is part of CEC’s Performing Arts Kids program.

With the help of Musical Director Emma Kelley, Stage Director Mackenzie Burns and General Director Brianna Hass the students designed their own set pieces, created their own costumes and generated their own choreography for this show.

The performances will take place in the CEC’s gymnasium, N3160 Silver Lake Drive.
