Comets sweep Clintonville

Waupaca improves to 10-6

Waupaca’s baseball team improved to 10-6 with a pair of North Eastern Conference wins over Clintonville.

The Comets completed the sweep May 20 with a 10-6 win over the Truckers at Waupaca High School. Waupaca also picked up a 4-1 win May 17 in Clintonville.

Waupaca 10, Clintonville 6

The Comets and Truckers completed a game that originally began earlier in the season, but was suspended because of lightning and hail.

The game was suspended with Waupaca taking a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the second inning.

The Comets added to their lead with three runs in the second and four more in the fifth.

Parker Krcmar led Waupaca at the plate with three hits, while Henry Williams added two doubles and four RBIs, including a three-run double in the second inning; and Braeden Ryan drove in a pair of runs.

Jayce Koshollek pitched three innings to get the win and Grant Abrahamson picked up the save.

Waupaca 4, Clintonville 1

Waupaca opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first inning before Clintonville tied the game in the fourth.

Waupaca broke the 1-1 tie with three runs in the fifth.

Hagen Rasmussen held the Truckers to four hits to pick up the complete-game win on the mound. Vin Nikolai had two of Waupaca’s hits and drove in a pair of runs.
