Dake, Marion “Sue”

Marion “Sue” Dake, age 93, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022

at Bethany Home in Waupaca.

She was born on April 6, 1929 in Oshkosh, WI, daughter of Fred and Pauline (Hartman) Felda. On September 20, 1947, Sue married Edgar Dake Jr. in Dubuque, Iowa and together they shared 56 years of marriage before his passing on February 4, 2003. She will be dearly missed by all her loving family and friends.

Ed and Marion moved to Waupaca, WI in 1957 and built their home on Spencer Lake, WI and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca, WI, where she was the Women’s Missionary Coordinator Counselor and Dean of the Women at Spencer Lake, WI for many years. Marion headed up the Cradle Roll in Waupaca, WI and was a delegate at the A/G District Council Meetings. She did art works for the A/G District Ministers Booths at District Council Conventions and art pictures and signs for the church programs and the youth and family camps. Besides visiting people in the hospital and “shut-ins”, Marion enjoyed having meals for family, relatives, friends and “alone” people and collecting antique glassware.

Marion is survived by two sons Daniel (Christine) Dake, Sr. of Waupaca, WI and Peter (Pamela) Dake of Arizona; one daughter Cynthia (Hugh) Crawford of North Carolina; grandchildren Candice Smith, Carin Dake, Daniel (Marci) Dake Jr., Thomas (Regina) Dake, Tiffany (Jarrod) Nicewander, Lila Dake, Melinda Dake and Amanda Dake; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Edgar, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Dake, and one brother Irvin Felda.
Funeral services will be on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca, WI with Reverend Cliff Cameron officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Spencer Lake Cemetery in the Town of Lind.

The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
