Waupaca County sheriff’s report June 13

• June 6 – Sandbur Corners in Ogdensburg reported an intentional fuel drive-off. The vehicle was a four-door Pontiac.

• June 6 – An Iola woman called to report her daughter “barged” into the house, threatened her and pushed her way in. It was related to a custody dispute.

• June 6 – A Clintonville woman on State Highway 156 reported a man with long dark hair walking past her house. He was swerving into the road and stumbling into the ditch.

• June 6 –Canadian National Railroad reported a train struck a cow and admitted there “Was nothing for us to do.” They wanted to contact the owner so the owner could claim the cost of the cow.

• June 7 – A Waupaca man on Tarr Road reported the death of an 86-year old man. The last time he seen the man was the night before. The body was cold when he found him.

• June 7 – A Marion man called to report that his neighbors were yelling at him for cutting the grass.

• June 7 – Kwik Trip in New London called to report a man who was in the bathroom for 10 minutes and was screaming and yelling in pain.

• June 7 – An Embarrass man on Main St. called with a noise complaint. Two or three people were being loud, arguing and swearing.

• June 7 – A Waupaca woman called and stated she was “all over the place and thinking I was going to die.” She said she was having a reaction to some night gummies (a sleep aid) that she took.

• June 8 – The Outagamie Sheriff’s Department found a man dressed in all black sleeping in a ditch. They dropped him off in Northport. They reported he was now heading westbound towards Waupaca.

• June 8 – A Waupaca man on Whispering Pines Road reported he was the victim of a scam. He purchased $10,000 in One Vanilla prepaid cards over the course of the past six weeks and gave them to a man on the internet.

• June 8 – A Manawa woman on Walnut Street reported her ex-husband was sending threatening text messages saying that he would kill any guy she tries to date. This also included emails and phone calls.

• June 8 – A New London woman on Fairway Drive reported the death of a 77-year old male. The man exhibited agonal breathing which is gasping for air and not getting enough oxygen. It is usually due to cardiac arrest or stroke.

• June 9 – A Waupaca woman on Sessions Street purchased a camper “as is.” It included two 100-pound LP tanks. The day before, two men showed up and said one of the tanks belonged to them. They said they owned a company that serviced these tanks.

• June 9 – A New London man asked to speak to a deputy about a possible fraud. It was related to a suspicious form from the Maryland Department of Labor for claiming benefits.

• June 9 – Canadian National Railroad called to report that the railroad tracks would be blocked for 20-30 minutes and would call back after they were moving.

• June 9 – A Fremont man on Riverview Court reported he was browsing the internet and clicked on a pop-up screen that locked up his computer. He paid a $500 ransom and money was taken from his account.

• June 9 – A man from Rawhide Youth Services in New London reported some kids stole a car and crashed it into a tree.

• June 10 – A Manawa woman called about checking on a woman who attempted suicide last week. The caller had just received a text from her stating, “This time it will work.”

• June 10 – A Manawa caller reported he was in his work truck in a driveway and a person driving a tractor with a corn picker backed into him.

• June 10 – A Manawa caller reported that her Stoeger M3000 semi-automatic shotgun was stolen. She said she had a suspect.

• June 10 – An Iola man taking care of his mother’s vacant property reported that at 11:45 p.m. the night before, the security camera captured a man in a hooded sweatshirt skulking around behind the house.

• June 10 – An Appleton man that owns hunting land in Waupaca County reported a tree stand missing. He believed a man who used to have permission to hunt there might be a suspect.

• June 10 – A Waupaca caller reported his daughter was involved in a domestic dispute the night before in Stevens Point. She was staying with him but he was concerned for their safety as a man was looking for her.

• June 10 – A Waupaca man on Mary Jane Circle reported his spare tire cover was stolen that afternoon.

• June 10 – The Wega Drive-In in Weyauwega reported a man trespassing on a four-wheeler.

• June 10 – A Waupaca man called to report that two men were involved in an incident at Hidden Waters Golf Course that morning and they were now drinking heavily at the Clearwater Harbor bar and bragging about the incident. The caller stated they were not driving—yet.

• June 10 – A Weyauwega woman on the N1500 block of U.S. Highway 10 called to report a bear on her porch. It was hanging on the rail and trying to get into her windows. They tried banging pots and pans but it wouldn’t go away. She was wondering if a deputy could stop by and crank the patrol car sirens to scare it off.

• June 11 – A Marion man on Garfield Avenue called to report hearing a female scream five or six times. It was coming from the baseball field area.
• June 11 – A Marion woman on Garfield Avenue called to report that her ex was there and would not leave. He was trying to retrieve some items he left behinds months ago. He was upset and accused her of lying to him. He said if she doesn’t stop lying, “Someone would end up in a hospital.”

• June 11 – A New London man on Bean City Road reported the night before two men attempted to break into his shed and he has pictures of them.
• June 11 – A New London woman on County Trunk B reported she had property stolen from her storage unit.

• June 11 – A Waupaca man on Timber Drive reported two friends were hit by a dark-colored truck heading towards the “casino.” No ambulance needed.

• June 11 – The Indian Crossing Casino called to report a man outside in the parking lot trying to start a fight. No weapons, no injuries.

• June 11 – An ambulance was called for a Menasha woman walking back from the Wheelhouse. She fell and hit her head. She was unresponsive but still breathing.

• June 12 – The Rustic Woods Campground reported that bathrooms were vandalized over the weekend.

• June 12 – A woman from Larsen reported a hit-and-run in Fremont. It was a black GMC Envoy with a big dog inside. Her Mazda Miata was parked near the Bridge Bar and the other vehicle took off toward the Buss Stop.

• June 13 – An Iola woman called to report that as she was returning home, she saw someone in her kitchen. The blinds were drawn before but now they were not.

• During this period there were numerous deer-auto collisions, multiple boat stops by the water patrol on the Wolf River. and residents reporting controlled burn. There were also calls about loose pigs in Waupaca, loose cows in Fremont, two loose cows in New London and one turtle “that was not willing to peacefully leave the roadway.”
