Civil War reenactment in New London

New London Heritage Historical Society hosts event

The New London Heritage Historical Society will host its second Civil War reenactment from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 25-26, at the Historical Village.

The village is located at 900 Montgomery St., adjacent to Memorial Park.

The weekend event includes demonstrations showing military and civilian life during the Civil War.

A number of Union and Confederate reenactment units from around the state will attend.

Attendees will see infantry drills, artillery, calvary and medical demonstrations and a skirmish at 2 p.m. each day.

Visitors may want to bring ear protection for use during cannon demonstrations.

Concessions are available and all buildings of the historical village will be open for tours.

Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for ages 5-17, and free for children under 5.
