Waupaca County sheriff’s report June 20

• June 13 – A Waupaca woman called to report a threatening letter she received in the mail. It was from someone who belongs to her church.

• June 13 – A New London man on Zirbel Road requested to speak with a deputy about potential fraud. A suspicious person was inquiring about his credit.

• June 13 – A Clintonville woman on Klemp Road reported a black adult bicycle lying in the gravel near a bridge. It had been there since the previous night.

• June 13 – An Ogdensburg woman on Hermanson Lake Road reported a woman in her 20s walking along the road and she would intermittently lie down on the shoulder of the road.

• June 14 – A Weyauwega man rescued an injured fawn. He said he would bring it to the sheriff’s office so they could take care of it. He was advised not to do that.

• June 14 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King reported a physical altercation between two members. No injuries.

• June 14 – A West Bend woman called for a welfare check on her drunk sister-in-law who left a message saying she needed help.

• June 14 – A Manawa man reported the theft of a Stihl chainsaw and some steel underlayment.

• June 14 – An unknown caller reported a silver Jeep Cherokee northbound on U.S. Highway 10. Inside the vehicle a man was hitting a woman. The vehicle went into the ditch several times.

• June 14 – Rawhide Youth Services reported one of their juvenile residents was punched by another resident. The victim was in the emergency room and wanted to press charges.

• June 15 – A Shiocton man on Kliner Road reported his dump trailer was stolen.

• June 15 – A caller from Dayton reported a man in his 90s fell down and there was a faint pulse.

• June 15 – A Scandinavia man reported he evicted a tenant who returned 24 hours later, saying she had the right to be there and refusing to leave.

• June 15 – A New London woman in County Trunk N reported $100 and two airpods were stolen out of her purse.

• June 15 – There were 92 calls in 24 hours about the thunderstorm. Most were reports of trees blocking roads and smashing into power lines. One silo toppled onto a road and a roof blew off a house and into some power lines cutting them in half. A Fremont caller reported a tree pierced her house. Another Fremont caller reported an unmanned pontoon boat floating down the Wolf River.

• June 16 – Rawhide Youth Services requested a K-9 walk-through because of suspected drug use.

• June 16 – A Milton woman reported that her Bimini top was taken from her boat while it was stored at Becker Marine.

• June 16 – The JR Larson Company in Weyauwega reported the theft of some steel pipe.

• June 16 – A Waupaca woman reported four to five children riding their dirt bikes up and down the road and their dog follows them into her yard.

• June 16 – An Ogdensburg woman on Casey Road reported her brother was “extremely intoxicated” and yelling at people. She also noted he was on probation.

• June 17 – A Waupaca woman asked help from a deputy about getting her belongings from a residence, including her daughter’s inhaler, diapers and clothes. The man who lives at the house has threatened to beat her up if she comes around.

• June 17 – An ambulance was called for an unresponsive and intoxicated 34-year old man on Velte Road in Clintonville.

• June 18 – An unknown caller reported a nude man running around a campground in New London.

• June 18 – A Clintonville man on Country Trunk C reported his neighbor came over in the driveway and threatened to beat up his son and then said he was going to get a gun.

• June 18 – An Iola woman on County Trunk J reported a 68-year old woman who was not moving, stiff and cold to the touch.

• June 18 – A Manawa woman reported road rage incident where a man in a Subaru swore at her.
• June 18 – A Waupaca woman on Duvenick Lane reported that a man took out the car this morning and returned home intoxicated. He was calling himself “The Bandit” and saying that no one could catch him.

• June 18 – A New London man reported that a fast-moving boat created waves so strong that it knocked his boat into the bridge and caused damage to his boat. It was a dark-colored bass boat that he suspected was part of the bass fishing tournament.

• June 18 – An unknown caller reported an African American male in a white tank top beat up a white female at the end of a tubing trip and was being aggressive to others.

• June 19 – A Scandinavia woman reported that her father has been harassing her. He shows up and sits on the road in his car staring at her house.

• June 19 – A New London woman on Stage Road reported she was being “gassed” again. She said they were outside.

• June 19 – A New London woman reported her son was suicidal. He was walking a down Country Trunk X. He was pulling a basket with a rope on it.

• June 19 – A Waupaca man on Pine Lane reported that his gutters have been stolen three times, most recently last night.

• During this period, the water patrol stopped multiple boats on the Wolf River and some resulted in citations for slow-no wake violations. There were numerous deer-auto collisions, many reports of controlled burns and over 100 calls about the recent thunderstorm. Twelve buffalos were reported as loose, there were four calls about turtles blocking roads and one report of a pit bull attacking a dog.
