Larry D. Johnson, 82, of Waupaca passed away on Friday June 17th 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
Larry was born on Thursday February 1st 1940 to Leif E. and Marjorie L. (Townsend) Johnson in Waupaca. Larry’s childhood was spent on the family farm and after high school he enlisted in the Army. He served from 1959 to 1962. After returning home, he married Vicky Heath and together they welcomed their son, Mark. They would divorce a few years later. In 1970, he would marry Donna Langman and together they welcomed two daughters; Kris and Lori. They spent 52 years of their lives together. Larry enjoyed his life as a general contractor with bowling and golfing as hobbies until back surgery forced him to give up those hobbies. In later years, he loved watching NASCAR, the Packers, and the Brewers. He enjoyed being busy. Whether it was the big builds or the small odds and ends jobs, he did it all. Larry also loved to meet up with his buddies at the Truck Stop for coffee and he loved playing cribbage and beating anybody that went up against him.
Larry is survived by his wife: Donna; his children: Mark Johnson, Kristina (Jeffrey) Koch, and Loreen (Michael) Fisher; his siblings: Marge, Nancy, Van, and Julie; his grandchildren: Mariah, Marissa, Amber, and Nathen; five brothers-in-laws, two sisters-in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marvin; three sisters-in-laws, and a brother-in-law.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 4pm-6pm at Maple Crest Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 9am at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King.
Larry’s family wishes to thank ThedaCare Waupaca and Hospice services for the great care that they gave him during his last few months.
