Missing girl found


Area search teams deployed late Saturday
Waupaca County deputies and rescue workers found a 6-year-old girl about three hours after she was reported missing.
At 10:25 p.m. Saturday, June 18, a 911 caller reported that a nonverbal and autistic girl was missing.
The girl had left her home in the town of Dayton and gone in an unknown direction.
She was believed to be without shoes.
Search crews began scouring the area immediately by foot, canine tracking and drones.
At approximately 1:36 a.m., the girl was located in a nearby unoccupied residence.
She was uninjured and returned to her parent.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Waupaca police and fire departments; Weyauwega Fire Department; Marion Police Department; and Gold Cross Ambulance Service.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
