Thompson, Curtis

Curtis “Curt” Thompson, age 75 of Clintonville passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at ThedaCare Medical Center, Shawano.

Curtis Wayne Thompson was born on November 15, 1946, in Stanley, Wisconsin, the third child of Harvey and Dorothy (Davison) Thompson. After graduating from Clintonville High School, he proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and was called to duty during the Milwaukee Riots in 1967. Curt was united in marriage on August 2, 1991, to Marcella “Cella” Beaber in Clintonville. He was employed at Seagrave Fire Apparatus in Clintonville, in the cab assembly area for close to 47 years, retiring in 2013. His wife Cella of 29 years preceded him in death on June 14, 2021.

Curt liked playing bingo and slot machines at the casino. He also enjoyed winning at scratch offs, cribbage, and pinochle. Curt loved spending time outdoors, whether he was out fishing or just walking around town. Another favorite pastime was watching Green Bay Packer football, WWE Wrestling, and the Fox News Channel whenever possible.

Survivors include three daughters, Lisa (Keith) Eulrich of Clintonville, Chris (Butch) Grant of Mattoon, and Kelly (Josh Ader) Herrington of Clintonville. There are six grandchildren: Tristan, Marissa, Brent, Taya, Randi, and Cheyenne; and one great grandson, Landon. There are three sisters, Sandee Thompson of Little Chute, Rhonda (Jeff Laux) Havelick of Clintonville, and Kelly Thompson of Trapper Creek, AK. There are three brothers, Terry (Kathy) Thompson of Little Chute, Jerry (Delores) Thompson of Shawano, Larry (Penny Stueck) Thompson of Clintonville. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Barb Christensen of Bear Creek; his first wife of 17 years, Connie (Ken) Knight of Clintonville; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marcella; a son, Benjamin Beaber; and his father-in-law, Ervin Christensen. He was also preceded in death three sisters, Barbara Alleman, Marsha Krause, and Frances Kauzrich; five brothers, Gary, Perry, Barry, Harry, and Darry Thompson; and two nephews, Michael Perry Thompson and Steven Rohde.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 8th at 11:00 AM at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Rev. Michelle Klemp will officiate and inurnment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Military Honors will be provided at the cemetery by members of the VFW Post 664, American Legion Post 63, DAV Chapter 53, VFW Auxiliary Unit 664, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 63, all of Clintonville. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
