Waupaca County sheriff’s report July 8

• July 1 – An Ogdensburg man reported that he purchased a house with an agreement that the microwave comes with the property. The microwave was missing.

• July 1 – The Red Banks Motel in Fremont reported one neighbor confronted another neighbor and threatened to hurt him.

• July 1 – Leidos Flight Service reported there was a distress signal coming from a Cessna aircraft near airport WI52 (Clintonville).

• July 1 – A Waupaca man on Bunker Road reported that his lease is up in August and his landlord will be evicting them. The landloard went to the house today and cut the power.

• July 2 – A Waupaca man reported another man broke into his house on Crystal Lake Road.

• July 2 – A Waupaca man on Deerview Court reported problems with a pit bull and a German Shepherd roaming the neighborhood.
• July 2 – A Waupaca woman on Ashley Court reported her soon-to-be ex-husband would not leave her home.

• July 2 – An Iola man on Carper Road reported that his 79-year-old uncle was checking on their house and was supposed to be somewhere else. He never showed up. His vehicle was still in the driveway.

• July 2 – A Waupaca man on Larson Road reported a problem with a noisy four-wheeler.

• July 2 – A New London man reported he was fishing on the Wolf River Sturgeon Trail and blue and silver bass boat drove by too fast and ruined one of his fishing rods. He confronted the crew on the boat and they were rude.

• July 2 – A Weyauwega woman on Country Lane reported a neighbor was playing loud music and serving liquor to people going down the river.

• July 2 – A caller from Bear Creek on Pleasant View Road reported a grey Ford diesel truck heading south. Gunfire was coming from the vehicle.

• July 2 – A caller from Kewaskum reported he was sick of the music coming from the Wolf River Campground next door. An officer addressed the problem earlier. They responded by turning around the speaker and ignoring the complaint.

• July 2 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home reported some marijuana was found on the floor and suspected a resident was using.
• July 2 – A Manawa caller reported multiple vehicles doing burnouts and donuts in a church parking lot.

• July 2 – A Weyauwega caller on South Street reported a woman hiding in her garage. There were people creeping around her house and flashing lights. She heard them talking.

• July 3 – A Fremont caller on Fremont Street reported the sound of a woman yelling for help. It sounded like she was getting beaten.

• July 3 – A Waupaca man on Royalton Street reported the lock on a storage unit was missing and it looked like it had been rifled through.

• July 3 – A 911 cell phone caller reported a man in swimming trunks that looked like he was going to jump off the bridge near U.S. Highway 10 and Tustin Road.

• July 3 – A New London man on State Highway 54 reported his home cameras revealed four kids in a blue Dodge Dart throwing a bunch of trash out the window.

• July 3 – A Manawa man reported another man wearing Amish clothes (dark blue pants, light blue shirt) had not been seen since the day before.

• July 3 – A caller reported that an emotional-support bird flew out of its cage and got stuck in a truck. The owner was very upset.

• July 4 – An anonymous caller reported underage Amish kids were drinking alcohol.

• July 4 – The Pub on Main Street Waupaca reported a very drunk person outside wearing pajamas.

• July 4 – A Weyauwega caller reported that a 30-year old woman left the house at 2 a.m. and then sent suicidal messages to him.

• July 4 – A Weyauwega caller reported that her granddaughter’s boyfriend and another man were fighting.

• July 4 – A Manawa caller on River Road reported his four-wheeler was stolen.

• July 4 – An unknown caller reported there was a camera positioned next to the porta potty located at the pit stop on the Crystal River.

• July 4 – Rawhide Youth Services reported two boys dug holes in their walls.

• July 4 – A Waupaca caller on Pine Lane reported the theft his DeWalt drill.

• July 4 – An Ogdensburg man on County Trunk K reported a man driving an old brown Grand Am was on his property, acting strange and said he needed gas. He drove away north.

• July 4 – A New London woman on Hancock Street reported her ex-husband is harassing her. She “blocked him on everything” so he contacts her friends.

• July 4 – The Northbound Trail BP in Fremont reported a woman who appeared drunk. When the bathrooms were cleaned, a wallet was found with what appeared to be a fake ID.

• July 4 – A Waupaca caller on Akron Avenue reported she was feeling suicidal. It seemed she had been drinking.

• July 4 – A Weyauwega caller reported her ex-husband and his girlfriend were creeping around her house. She last saw them in a nearby cornfield.

• July 5 – A woman stopped by the sheriff’s office. She reported she was harassed for the past eight years. The woman and her mother moved to the area recently. The individuals doing the harassing found them and they showed up at her residence last weekend.

• July 5 – A Marion man reported he was missing a 9 mm Smith & Wesson handgun. It may have been taken by his soon-to-be ex girlfriend.

• July 5 – A New London caller reported a little grey car pulled up and two women beat her up and left.

• July 5 – A Bear Creek caller reported that her friend texted her saying that she was with her boyfriend who was driving intoxicated and he was grabbing and attacking her in the car.

• July 5 – An Ogdensburg caller reported that people have been hanging around at night by some storage units he owns and he thought they might be dealing drugs.

• July 6 – An anonymous caller reported a blue-grey car with its windows smashed out sitting west of County Trunk J.

• July 6 – A caller with the township of Farmington reported she received complaints about people parking in the no-parking zone on Otter Drive.

• July 6 – An Iola caller reported that an item was stolen out of her car while it was parked at the Scandinavia C-Store. She suspected her mother was to blame. When the 911 operator put her on hold to take another call, it was the caller’s mother.

• July 7 – A Marion caller reported that her family member’s headstones were tipped over. Vehicle tracks looked as if the headstones were struck.

• July 7 – An Ogdensburg caller on Smith Road reported getting a knock on his door at 1:30 a.m. A young woman wanted a ride to Big Falls so she could meet a friend from Tigerton. She appeared to be on drugs. She said she was thrown from a car.

• July 7 – A Weyauwega caller on Desert Road reported a suspicious green GMC truck hanging around his residence. He has had many thefts in the past.

• July 8 – Spencer Lake Bible Camp reported a bear sitting south of the camp near County Trunk EE. It was not aggressive.

• July 8 – A Waupaca caller reported that a man sent her some photos of hard liquor, was driving and threatening suicide.

• July 8 – A woman called concerned about her brother who was at the Iola Old Car Show. Previously he was complaining of chest pressure and now he was not answering his phone.

• July 8 – The New London Police Department shared an anonymous call where a person reported seeing an over-the-road truck driver throwing what appeared to be a gun out the window while driving down State Highway 45.

• July 8 – A New London caller on Stage Road reported that her house was full of chemical smells, that she was asphyxiating and was going outside.

• July 8 – A Waupaca caller on Spencer Lake Road reported he received a call from a telemarketer. The man told him to take his name of their list. The telemarketer said, “If you do that I will come and shoot you.”

• July 8 – A caller reported that his “psychotic ex-girlfriend” won’t leave and she threatened to have someone kill him.

• July 8 – A Waushara County deputy reported a motorcycle passed him going over 100 mph heading north to the Waupaca County line. He was checking for a possible crash.

• July 8 – Wally World Tavern in Waupaca reported a man inside the bar who was unresponsive and foaming at the mouth.

• July 8 – An Iola woman on North Lake Road reported the theft of a 2.5 gallon gas can.

• July 8 – The chairperson for the town of Lind requested extra patrols because two road signs were hit and knocked down.

• July 8 – A Waupaca caller on Spencer Lake Road reported her 23-year-old son was intoxicated, arguing and not listening to her.

• July 8 – A Waupaca woman on Mary Street reported she was outside with her child when her neighbor came out and yelled profanities at her.

• During this period, the water patrol stopped a huge number of boats during the 4th of July weekend. There were numerous deer-auto collisions and many reports of controlled burns. There were numerous calls of neighbors griping about loud fireworks. There were loose cows in Scandinavia, Iola and New London and one horse was in the road near Fremont. There was a report of a fawn-chasing dog in Iola, a dog bit a woman at a garage sale and a white chihuahua was running loose.
